I did paint it, just not in 2D. It's a photo of a model I painted.

Let me correct myself. I thought this was a comment on another deviation.

Yes, this is a still life photo I took. I altered the colors in photoshop.

I agree with the above statement. It looks like the opening segment In the DVD before the main menu. Very cool.

Beautiful! it has a true M-e setting to it; like Bilbo's workdesk in the film, 'The Fellowship of the Ring'.
The runes of the Hobbit and the copy of the LotR are wonderful touches, which only a Tolkiendil could spot, I think. ;)
The map and the coins are also an excellent touch indeed; is that map in English though? (It doesn't matter, but that word looks like 'the' ;)).

WOnderful atmosphere you set, great job. :worship:
Have you read the Silmarillion? Perhaps you could do some sort of photographic work from that; there certainly isn't a shortage of subjects. :faint:

dude, that book is actually a copy of the hobbit with such a nifty cover or did you manipulate the pic? cool fucking coin, too :D cant read them, tho x_x my Cirth is a little rusty

:iconinziladun:

It's not Cirth, it's actually a type of modified Anglo-Saxon rune system. Tolkien uses it in the Hobbit, on Thorin's Map. :)

Wow these are great. I wish my Middle Earth collection was as suffisticated. I just got all the toys, all the movies, including the cartoons, all the books, including all the histories of middle earth. Nothing quite fancy like this though.

This is almost like I'm looking directly at Frodo's or Biblo's desk. And maybe even Peter Jacksons. Feels so real and warm. This is awesome!!

You should definitely offer those as prints. I don't have money, but I imagine there's plenty of people who do that would buy them in a heartbeat.

Beautiful composition on both shots, but I think I like this one best. The books and maps kind of remind me of the scene where Gandalf is researching things in the library in Fellowship.

Not only can he draw, but he's a photographer too! Somehow, this still maintains your style, even though its not a drawing. Does that make sense? Maybe its the coolours you've got in there that does it.

mm! Both shots are great, but i do like the first one more. The first one feels warm, like a novice adventurer would feel when they decided its time to go out and just...explore. The excitement and innocence of it all i guess. *L*

But again both of them are great! Wonderful work
